ABOUT KIBANDA

Welcome to Kibanda ya Sitawa African Gifts & Culture Hub, your local gateway to Africa. Our mission is to connect global citizens with Africa’s rich heritage.
Backstory
My name is Sitawa, and I am one of those portfolio career type babe aka come in too many flavors to fit in one spoon types... my top three things are mental health advocacy, offering operations and micro-event support to lean teams, and of course, the founder of this store/culture hub.
This space began with compliments on my earrings, which inspired me to start handcrafting pieces to sell. That spark turned into Kibanda, which means "store" in Swahili, and blossomed into a curated collection of: handmade and sourced accessories (including work by women artisans back home), Pre-loved books by Pan-African authors, Afro-inspired posters & cards, and Language & Culture services for those curious to connect more deeply.
